Because Thanksgiving is a national holiday, schools, banks, libraries and government offices will be closed on Thursday.
Some supermarkets, however, will be open for some last-second shopping ahead of that holiday meal.

Metro will run on . Trains and buses will operate from 7 a.m. until midnight. MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday, however, subscription trips will be canceled.
In Virginia, the Interstate 95 and 396 Express Lanes will start reversal one hour at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23 with the full southbound lanes open by about noon.
