WASHINGTON – The holiday season isn’t slowing down the rate of new restaurants opening in the D.C. area. Nycci Nellis of recently spoke with Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø about what’s popping up on plates throughout the city.
New York-based recently opened in the Navy Yard area of Southeast D.C.
“Not a lot of people know that area, just yet, but trust me, this is going to be one of the new hot spots for dining. We talked about Bluejacket opening there a month ago, and now Osteria Morini,” Nellis says.
The water-front trattoria is known for its pastas and traditional, casual Italian cuisine. And if you’re pinching pennies this time of year, Nellis says Osteria Morini is not too expensive. The restaurant just started serving lunch and has a great happy hour, as well.
Another new addition to the D.C. dining scene is , from Neighborhood Restaurant Group.
“It’s such an interesting concept. Half of the restaurant is almost outdoors,” Nellis says. “It is one of the most romantic spots in the city.”
The indoor part of Iron Gate serves a four-course tasting menu, which costs $50 per person.
“And I have to say the wine list
