WASHINGTON — For just the next few days, you can make a phone call, request a Christmas carol, and hear someone sing it to you live.
It’s called , a free service students in the Snyder Hall dorm at the University of Illinois have been offering for 56 years.
Â鶹¹ÙÍø called and requested “O Holy Night.”
The student who answered the phone told me to hold a moment while she found the lyrics.
She also recruited three other student singers.
The result wasn’t perfect, but others listening in the Â鶹¹ÙÍø newsroom gave them an “A” for effort.
Dial-A-Carol is available daily, 24-7 until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16.
