Deadly 3-car crash in Prince George’s Co. involved a deer

WASHINGTON — A deer ran out in front of a vehicle in Prince George’s County, causing a fatal three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

Around 5:40 a.m., a deer ran out in front of the southbound lanes of Ritchie Marlboro Road and struck the front of a car. That car drove into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 50-year-old David Diamond. A pick-up truck crashed into Diamond’s car as well, said Prince George’s County police.

Diamond, a Huntingtown, Maryland resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the other involved drivers and his passenger both suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. The third driver was not hurt, police said.

Ritchie Marlboro Road between Brown and Westphalia roads was closed for the crash investigation but reopened about 10:40 a.m., Prince George’s County police .
