WASHINGTON — Thousands of people in the area are without power on Wednesday morning, and one Northern Virginia school has been forced to cancel classes for the day.
Dominion Virginia Power reports just under 400 customers are without service as of noon, mostly in Fairfax and Arlington.
Pepco says that about 200 customers are without power scattered around the area.
William Ramsay Elementary School, in Alexandria, canceled classes shortly before 8 a.m.
