DC man shot, killed by police; bodycam video released

D.C. police have released bodycam footage showing an officer fatally shooting 36-year-old Terrance Maurice Parker, a Black man, while responding to a domestic dispute on Friday night.

Officers were called to a home on the 1100 block of 4th Street SW around 9 p.m. Friday for a dispute. According to a police narrative of the incident, officers were beginning to interview Parker and a woman at the scene, when Parker pointed a handgun at the woman and one of the officers.

Parker was then shot by one of the officers. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The officers involved are on administrative leave, per police department policy.

Police said Parker’s gun was recovered at the scene.
