WASHINGTON 鈥� The Washington Capitals鈥� bragging rights for being Stanley Cup Champions will last at least a year. How long will it take to pay off Tuesday鈥檚 rally and parade? That鈥檚 not so clear.
Preliminary estimates put the total cost of Tuesday鈥檚 festivities are between $380,000 and $400,000 city spokeswoman LaToya Foster said.
, which is funded through tourism-related taxes, is picking up a quarter-million of the bill.

At Tuesday’s rally, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser thanked everyone who helped make the parade a success, focusing on the police, fire and public works departments:
“I want to thank all of the people that not only have helped us have a wonderful parade 鈥� but remember when you filled the streets of Washington, D.C., when our team was 2,400 miles away 鈥� they kept us safe.”
