WASHINGTON — After 48 years of business, one of D.C.’s oldest bars will close its doors.
In aSunday, Jody Taylor, owner of the Black Rooster Pub, said the establishment’s lease is up and will close in May.
The pub opened in 1970 at 1919 L St. NW.
“It is hard to leave home,” said Taylor in his Facebook post. “Lot of fun was had by all for 48 years but it’s sadly, time to go.”
