WASHINGTON — One man is dead and two others injured after a botched robbery resorted to gunfire Saturday in Northeast D.C., police say.
The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. in the 700 block of H Street, where police found three men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police say Jerome Leroy Wright, 32, of Northeast, tried to rob the two others, triggering a shootout.
Despite lifesaving efforts, Wright died at the scene.
Two survivors were taken to local hospitals.
