2017 Annapolis Running Classic closes roads, causes delays

WASHINGTON — The 6th annual Annapolis Running Classic, which began early Saturday morning at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, has closed roads and caused traffic delays in the Anne Arundel, Maryland, area.

The event hosts a half-marathon with a cap of 4,000 runners, and a 10K with a cap of 1,500 runners.

The half-marathon has closed downtown streets, Rowe Blvd., Taylor Ave. and MD-450 Naval Academy Bridge.

The Annapolis Running Classic began at 7:30 a.m. and is projected to go for 3 hours and thirty minutes. At 11 a.m., police will reopen the roads and no longer direct traffic.
