Fire in Odenton involved ammunition

WASHINGTON — A fire in Odenton, Maryland is under control, but not before ammunition inside the house started going off.

After a neighbor called 911, Anne Arundel County firefighters responded around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday to the fire in the 400 block of Monterey Avenue. It was brought under control around 5:15 a.m.

According to fire spokesman Lt. Will Bethea, when crews arrived on the scene, they heard ammunition go off.

The home belongs to a D.C. police officer.

No injuries have been reported. No information has been released about the officer.
