Rain lingers into Tuesday’s morning commute with a few steadier periods possible through midday, along with an isolated rumble of thunder. Conditions improve through the afternoon as rain tapers off from west to east, with gradual clearing by evening. Humidity drops noticeably in the evening and into Wednesday, setting up a stretch of more comfortable weather.
Wednesday is the pick of the week with sunshine and lower humidity.
Warmer, slightly more humid air returns Thursday, but most areas stay dry. A stronger system approaching from the Great Lakes increases the chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday, with the potential for heavy rain and gusty winds.
