OVERNIGHT:
Mostly cloudy; chance of showers
Lows:Ìý43-50
Winds: Northwest 5 mph
A chance of showers continues, mainly late this evening into the early overnight hours, before wet weather chances become more limited. Skies stay mostly cloudy, which should help keep temperatures from falling too quickly around the metro. Lows settle in the upper 40s with light winds. Frost concerns remain more focused well west of the metropolitan D.C. area with rainfall totals a few hundredths of an inch.

SATURDAY:
Mostly cloudy; stray showers
Highs: 58-63
Winds: Northwest 10-15 mph
Saturday is mostly cloudy, cool and a bit unsettled. Highs only reach the lower 60s, keeping temperatures below average for early May. A few scattered showers may develop, mainly during the afternoon, but this does not look like an all-day rain. Winds turn north around 5 to 10 mph, adding to the cooler feel.

SATURDAY NIGHT:
Isolated showers; some clearing
Lows: 40s
Winds: Light
A lingering shower is possible early, then skies gradually clear overnight. Temperatures turn chilly, with lows in the lower 40s around Washington. With clearing skies and lighter winds, colder spots west of the Blue Ridge have the better chance for frost or freezing temperatures by early Sunday.

SUNDAY:
Partly to mostly sunny
Highs: 60-65
Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph
The final day of the weekend brings a brighter and drier finish to the weekend. Skies turn sunny, but the air remains cool, with highs in the lower to middle 60s. A northwest breeze at 8 to 10 mph may gust near 20 mph, so it still feels cool at times despite the sunshine.

MONDAY:
Mostly sunny
Highs: 75-80
Winds: Southwest 10-15 mph
Monday starts the warming trend with mostly sunny skies and a more comfortable afternoon. Highs climb into the mid 70s as southerly winds begin to return. Most areas stay dry, and it will feel much more like a typical early May Day compared with the cool weekend.

TUESDAY:
Partly cloudy
Highs: Near 80
Winds: Southwest 10-15 mph
The warmest of the next 7 days, Tuesday afternoon highs are set to reach the upper 70s to lower 80s. Much of the day should be dry, though a few showers may try to approach from the northwest later as a weather maker slowly moves closer.
